Find a place of regular service to God
In v.1 it says, “Samuel was ministering to the LORD in the presence of Eli” . If you want to hear the voice of God, you have to be doing the things of God. If you’re not serving, don’t wonder why you’re not hearing the voice of God. .
Listen for God’s voice
Eli was “lying down in his usual place” , too preoccupied with his own interests to hear God. When God began speaking, he was not listening. Many times to hear what God is saying we have to slow down and take time to get close to God. We have to put aside our interests and lean in to hear what God is saying..

Happy Leap Day! Yep. It’s been 4 years since we have been able to say that. I don’t fully understand the reasoning behind Leap day. My 10 year old son tried to explain it to me once but the blank stare I gave him made him quickly realize that he did not get his factoid memory from his mother. All I took from his lesson is that we get an extra day every 4 years. Cool!
John 17:22-23 (NIV) "I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me."

When you feel weighed down by the cares of life, your world stops working. You can feel stuck, emotionless, and empty. Depression hurts so much! Worst of all, you may believe that no one cares about your feelings. Stress, loss, anxiety and fatigue are just some of the challenges that can launch us into depression. Many of us fight depression because our minds work overtime trying to make sense of this insane, broken world.
Feeling “World Weary”
Many things can cause us mental and emotional exhaustion. It can be the loss of a loved one. It might be the disappointment of losing a job or not getting a promotion. Financial problems can cause us to feel down. The number of causes for depression is almost limitless.
This statement of faith has its source in the Bible and is in total agreement with the foundational principles of the doctrines of Christ. We believe that the Bible contains the inspired and infallible Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1: 20-21)
We believe that there is only one God eternally existent in three persons; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost. (Ephesians 4:5-6, Gen. 1:26, Matthew 3:16-17)
We believe in the deity of Christ. (John 1: 1-4; John 10:30; Hebrews 1:1-5)
a. He was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:30-35)
b. He was conceived of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 1:18-25, Luke 1:30-35)
c. He died (John 19:30-35)
d. He rose again from the dead bodily (John 20:25-29, Luke 24:36-40)
e. He ascended into heaven bodily (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Matthew 29-30)
We believe in the rapture of the church and the Second coming of Christ.
(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Matthew 29-30)
We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is repentance and faith in the precious blood of Jesus (Acts 3:19, Luke 24:47; Ephesians 1:7)
“But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day” (Deuteronomy 8:18)
Did you just get a promotion or a raise in your salary? Have you just bought a new car or moved into your new home? Well if you have, what is the significance of your promotion in God’s Kingdom? What impact has your pay-raise had on the things of God? How many people were won to Christ, rejoiced, and gave God praise because of it. When you got that new car, how many people embraced Jesus for it? How many had their faith inspired by your testimony?
1 Timothy 2:3-6 (NIV) This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men—the testimony given in its proper time.
We believe God has a heart for all people and wants to save every one. God is inviting us to share His heart for people. He is inviting us into His mission to save people. He is inviting us to co-labor with Him.
2 Corinthians 5:18-20 (NIV) All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
